Training for the Internationalization of Education

Some training sessions for the internationalization of higher education were held for the administrative and academic personnel of universities partnering with the International Education Center through the Center’s initiative on October 8-12 of this year. These sessions were conducted by some experts from the Yehuda Elkana Center for Higher Education of Central Europe University - Pusa Nastase and Matyas Szabo.

The Yehuda Elkana Center for Higher Education is a research center based at Central Europe University working on writing up education policies, professional development programs, and consultation initiatives along with experts and researchers of international higher education.

These training sessions had the aim of improving participants’ knowledge about the internationalization of higher education and to analyze the challenges within a national and institutional context.

Academic and administrative personnel from I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Ilia State University, Batumi Shota Rustaveli University, Caucasus University, the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, and Grigol Robakidze University took part in the training.

Up to 40 training participants worked on the following topics over the course of 10 sessions: ranking and the establishment of standards in higher education, the promotion of higher education abroad, the policies encouraging and hindering international recruitment, student life and student assistance, the management of international graduate networks, international standards and principles for creating a curriculum, self-evaluation, and group projects.
