Program Overview
Since 2016, the LEPL International Education Center has been running a partnership program with France in cooperation with Campus France and the French Institute at the Embassy of France in Georgia.
Each year, up to 17 Georgian citizens receive funding — including both new awardees and those continuing multi-year Master’s programs. Beneficiaries hold the status of scholarship recipients of both the Georgian and French governments.
Program Objectives
The program aims to:
- - Facilitate access to education that meets international standards and labor market needs;
- - Support the development of highly skilled professionals;
- - Strengthen educational cooperation between Georgia and France.
Financial Support
Provided by the International Education Center (IEC)
- - €560 monthly scholarship paid directly to the student;
- - Administrative fees covered by IEC and transferred to Campus France.

Provided by the French Institute of Georgia
- - €300 monthly scholarship paid directly to the student.

Additional Support
- - The top two scholarship recipients in STEM fields will be granted up to €5,000 by IEC to cover the tuition fee, upon submission of supporting documentation.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are required to be:
- - Citizens of Georgia or holders of a neutral ID/travel document;
- - Bachelor’s degree holders or final-year undergraduate students;
- - Students already enrolled in France in Master 1 or first year of a multi-year Master’s program, applying for funding for the next academic year.
Other requirements:
- - Strong academic performance (e.g., minimum GPA 3.0 / 81–90 out of 100 / B or equivalent)
- - Age limit: up to 30 years
Application & Selection Procedure
- - Applications must be submitted via the official electronic system: https://app.iec.gov.ge
- - Selection is conducted in two stages by a joint Evaluation Committee composed of Georgian and French representatives:
- Review of submitted applications
- Interview with shortlisted candidates
- - Scholarships are awarded only upon submission of an unconditional admission letter from a French higher education institution and after signing a grant agreement with the IEC.
Post-Study Obligations
Grant recipients are required to:
- - Return to Georgia within one month of graduation;
- - Reside in Georgia and work in a relevant field for at least three years within five years after graduation.
Deferral Option
Graduates may be granted permission
- - to remain abroad for up to one year after graduation to gain professional experience in their field, subject to the committee’s discretion.
- - to continue PhD studies (in the same field)
