Program Objective
The program aims to provide financial support from the Government of Georgia to “Stipendium Hungaricum” scholarship holders who:
- - Have been awarded the scholarship through the Stipendium Hungaricum program; and
- - Have successfully completed at least their first semester of studies and demonstrated high academic performance (a minimum GPA of 4 (Good) under Hungary’s 5-point grading system)
Application & Selection Procedure
- - All required documentation must be submitted electronically at: https://app.iec.gov.ge.
- - Applications are reviewed by a selection committee
- - Final decisions are based on application review and applicant interviews.
- - Grants may be extended for the following academic semester based on academic performance — with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (“Good”) under Hungary’s 5-point grading system (equivalent to “B” under international grading standards).
Amount and Terms of Financial Support
- Grant Amount: €1,250 per semester
- Purpose: To cover living expenses while studying in Hungary.
Post-Study Obligations
Grant recipients are required to:
- - Submit a notarized Georgian translation of their diploma confirming the awarded academic degree upon graduation.
- - Return to Georgia no later than one month after completing their studies, and reside and be employed in a relevant field for at least 3 years within 5 years of graduation.
Deferral Options
- - Graduates may be granted permission to remain abroad for up to one year after graduation to gain professional experience in their relevant field, subject to the committee’s discretion.
- - Bachelor’s or master’s graduates may be granted permission to pursue further studies at the next academic level abroad, in the same field (subject to committee’s discretion).
