LEPL - International Education Center (IEC) of Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia conducted an annual forum for scholarship recipients in Svaneti, Mestia. The forum was attended by winners of the scholarship programs for the 2025-2026 academic years, representatives of the center’s partner embassies, and alumni.
Three-day forum was officially opened by the Executive Director of LEPL - International Education Center, Dr. Nunu Mitskevich. She congratulated scholarship recipients and wished them good luck on their career paths. As Dr. Nunu Mitskevich pointed out, the Government of Georgia is taking numerous consequential steps to support the youth in Georgia. Specifically, through funding international educational programs, students are given the opportunity to study at leading universities worldwide and upon returning to their homeland apply their knowledge and experience to the country’s development. The forum participants were also addressed by the acting Hungarian ambassador to Georgia, Ferenc Gábor Krauss, who discussed Hungary’s educational system and bilateral cooperation in the field of education between the two countries.
Scholarship recipients participated in discussion panels where they learned about the peculiarities of the academic process at foreign higher education institutions. Participants also received comprehensive information about the programs of the IEC, their rights, responsibilities, and obligations of stakeholders, as well as scholarships, qualification enhancement, and employment-related initiatives for graduates. An interactive panel was held with the participation of alumni, during which graduates shared their experiences of studying and living abroad with this year's beneficiaries.
Within the forum, various cultural and educational activities and excursions were organized, including visits to Hatsvali, the Svaneti Historical-Ethnographic Museum, Khergiani Museum, and the Mestia Leo Pilpani Public and Folklore Theater.
