Stipend for Hungarian Students and Researchers - 2018

The Georgian Ministry of Education and Science and the International Education Center announce a competition for the 2018 academic year for Hungarian students and researchers.

An education exchange program for the years 2017-2020 was signed on February 6, 2017 between the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science and the Hungarian government’s Ministry of Human Resources. On the basis of this agreement, the acceptance of applications for the announced stipend program for Hungarian students and researchers will begin on May 10 of the current year. The stipend program will be administered by the International Education Center and the Tempus Society Foundation of Hungary.

This program foresees the financing of 10 Hungarian students in Georgia by the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science with the aim of studying in part or full time Masters or doctoral programs, including English language programs and courses, as well as participating in summer schools and studies. The educational programs/courses have been offered by institutes of higher education partnering with the Center.

Courses of study within the stipend program will be offered by I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi, and Grigol Robakidze University for the humanitarian, judicial, social, and political sciences, as well as for business administration. Hungarian students will also have the possibility of coming to Georgia with individual research projects.

Competition winners will be announced by the corresponding recipient institutes of higher education.

The competition consists of two stages:

Stage 1 - Administrative (formal) approval of e-application and appropriate documentation. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. The Center has the authority to request that entrants clarify a submitted document. After the completion of this stage, complete applications and the accompanying documentation will be given to the corresponding institute of higher education by the Center.

Stage 2 - If there is a need, an interview is conducted with entrants having successfully completed the first stage by the corresponding institute of higher education. In the case of an entrant being abroad, the interview will conducted via video call.

Grant recipients will have a guarantee from the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science: of a free academic year of study, medical insurance, and a stipend in the amount of 800 GEL.

E-applications will be received from May 10 to May 25, 2018 (8:00 pm Georgian time, 6:00 pm Central European time).
