The scholarship holders of the LEPL – International Education Center got familiar with the projects of Alumni Grants Program

LEPL - International Education Center (IEC) of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia hosted scholarship recipients of 2025-2026 academic year. The first part of the event was dedicated to a meeting between current scholars and alumni.

The alumni presented to the new scholarship recipients and attendees successful projects, which were funded in the framework of IEC programs and implemented in Georgia after their graduation.

In the panel discussion, the following presentations were delivered:

  • - Akaki Nadaraia – Assessment of glacial lake threats and their impact on Georgia’s highland regions;
  • - Besarion Lasareishvili - National and international “Immunization, antimicrobial resistance and phage therapy” school;
  • - Lena Gomarteli – STEM school hub;
  • - Elene Machaidze – Seasonal livestock movement spatial conflicts and the potential for integrated design practices, based on examples from Kvemo Kartli region;
  • - Guram Imnadze – Study of ice cover thickness and glacier body condition in the Gergeti Glacier basin on the southern slope of the Caucasus during active warming;
  • - Mariam Sagaradze – multi-spectral photography and 3D thermographic monitoring of wall paintings for conservation; international workshop on cultural heritage conservation.

The International Education Center implements the “Alumni Grants Program for Gaining Work Experience or Continuing Studies for the Next Academic Degree Abroad” to support those scholars who have received education or enhanced their qualifications abroad and plan to implement various public, research, and academic-educational projects in Georgia based on their acquired knowledge.
